This project provides 7000m² of modern office Accommodation for Scottish Amicable Investments. Hulley & Kirkwood’s initial involvement for Jones Lang Wootton along with Hugh Martin and Partners was to provide the M&E Design for a high quality Developer Specification Building including fully flexible Fit-Out.  All Office Areas within the Building are air conditioned using a 4-pipe Fan Coil Unit System employing ‘free cooling’ during certain ambient conditions. Heating and cooling for the plant are provided by modular LTHW heating atmospheric gas boilerplant and air cooled water chillers. Toilet Areas are ventilated with fresh air supply to Lobby Areas and air exhausted by a separate toilet extract system with extract grilles in each cubicle. Cold water is stored in sealed sectional tanks within the Basement Floor Plantroom and distributed via pressurisation sets to cold water points throughout the Building and to local hot water service electric heaters located in every toilet. Car park ventilation is provided in accordance with Building Control Requirements with natural air intakes at Lower Ground Level and mechanical extract via external louvres, also at Lower Ground Level. The fire fighting stair and lift shaft is provided with air pressurisation systems in accordance with BS.5588: Part 4.
