Project Title: Lochside House
Project Value: £2.8m
Hulley contact: Michael O'Donnell
Lochside House at Edinburgh Park was developed to a Commercial Base specified by Miller Developments and then adapted to meet the Tenant fit-out needs. Hulley & Kirkwood's involvement was to design the M&E services for the Shell and Core and Category A Fit-Out of the Office Space. The building is used as a Business Centre and flexibility was a key design issue on this Project, to allow the Tenant to create Cellular Accommodation of varying sizes throughout. The M&E Services were therefore designed with flexibility in mind. The Offices are naturally ventilated by means of manually openable windows, and the heating and cooling is provided by a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) inverter system. This system comprises external roof mounted outdoor units located within a plantwell, and recessed indoor units which are installed in the ceiling voids and ducted to ceiling grilles. The system has the flexibility to provide simultaneous heating and cooling control to independent units within the same zone to maintain the local design temperature.
