This fast track project created 14,000m² of Wafer Fabrication Clean Rooms comprising 8400m² of Class 1 Clean Room and 5400m² of Class 1000 Clean Rooms. Also included was the accommodation of backup support areas at Class 100 and Class 10000.
H&K were involved in an intensive Design Support Role for Black and Veatch, the American Lead Consultant, providing on-site Director presence with Design Engineers and CAD co-ordinating Draughtsmen over an eight month period, comprising a total commitment of up to 20 Engineers from our Glasgow and Edinburgh Offices.
In this period we worked closely with Sir Robert McAlpine as Design and Construction Managers, The Parr Partnership as Architects, TBV as Structural Engineers and Tozer Capita as Quantity Surveyors and Employers Representatives. We were directly involved in Design for the HEVAC Support Services including 20 x 87m³ per second air handling plant, process chilled water supplies, process water services, solvent extract systems, VOC extract systems, vacuum systems and a co-ordination of the sub-fab areas.
