Project Title: Syntex Pharmaceuticals (now Quintiles)
Client: Syntex Research
Project Value: £14m
Hulley contact: Michael O’Donnell
Syntex Research provides 9,000m² of Research Laboratories incorporating a very complex service installation. Our role in the project was to liaise with the Client, Project Manager and Design Team and produce detailed design drawings, specifications and full co-ordinated drawings i.e. 1:50 plans and 1:20 sections. Site Supervision and Quality Control were undertaken separately by the Project Manager.
The Animal House has temperature and humidity control of 20°C ± 2°C and 50% ± 10% RH. Each individual unit (7 off), Primate Area (6 off) and Rodent Room (14 off) has a separate temperature control. The Laboratories have individual temperature controls via local re-heater batteries. The air handling plant is full fresh air with heat recovery to avoid cross-contamination and all the extracts from the Animal House incorporate local terminal filters to remove animal hair.
A Tego System is provided i.e. disinfected water system to the Animal House.
