Rushmere Shopping Centre, N.Ireland

Retail and Mixed-Use

Project Title: Rushmere Shopping Centre, N.Ireland

Client: Stannifer Developments

Project Value: £12m

Hulley contact: Andy Bradley

The project, sited at Craigavon in Northern Ireland is a major expansion to the existing shopping centre, effectively doubling the size of its let able retail space.

Hulley & Kirkwood are responsible for all infrastructure and landlords systems for the project with time restrictions being of utmost importance. Due to the demands of the fast moving retail business, the pressure was on to adhere to opening deadlines. We closely liaised with Debenhams, who are the anchor tenant, and all other incoming tenants to keep to the timescales but ensuring that all their individual requirements with regard to infrastructure were satisfied.

Work on the extension was to progress with minimal disruption to the rest of the Centre. The construction period was very tight with a deadline focused on achieving Debenhams’ ‘window’ for opening. Due to the ever-changing nature of retail this pushed the programme to the limit.
