111 The Ropewalk – Best Nottinghamshire Development 4* (2006)
111 The Ropewalk, a Former Eye Hospital which closed in mid 1970s, was awarded with the Daily Mail UK Property Award for Best Nottinghamshire Development 4*. The premises was demolished with the exception of the listed front façade, to be redeveloped into 46 high quality one and two bedroom luxury studio apartments constructed within the semi derelict shell of a former hospital. The site was acquired with an initial gross area of 14,000sqft but with clever architectural innovation utilising mezzanine floors and bed decks the net saleable floor space has been increased to 21,000sqft with apartments ranging in size from 270-700sqft. Appointed by Lace Market Properties, Hulley & Kirkwood were appointed to produce Employers Requirements for M&E Services and undertake Client M&E Technical advisor role.
