This Project was built in three Phases over a period of ten years, at a cost of £62M.
The first patients were admitted on completion of Phase 1. With the completion of Phase 2, the Hospital now provides over 700 beds and employs a staff of 200.
The Hospital has the full range of Departments normally associated with a District General Hospital in addition to a Regional Laundry a Regional Works/Transport Department and a Community Health Centre.
