Project Title: Glasgow Royal Infirmary
Project Value: £3m
Hulley contact: Jim Costello
The project saw the relocation and provision of a ten bed ITU ward within Glasgow Royal Infirmary’s Queen Elizabeth Building. The design was governed by the constraints of working within a live hospital coupled with the limitations of the existing infrastructure whilst ensuring that the onerous service requirements remained uncompromised. Detailed surveys throughout the design phase were key to delivering the client with a modern solution fully integrated with the stochastic nature of a hospital environment.
The ITU has been fully operational since practical completion in October 2005.
