Provision of new South and West Stands at Hampden Park, under a Management Contract completes the re instatement of the home of Scottish football. The new South Stand, at time of completion, was the largest of its type at any sports ground within the UK.
The 52,500 seating capacity Stadium was designed and built to the Taylor Report and “Green Guide” legislation and requirements and contains a Museum of Football, TV Studios, Catering Facilities and Spectator Concourses, Lounges and VIP areas. The electrical supply to the Development is by two independent 11kV service cables from separate primary sub-stations within the Scottish Power distribution network. The mains distribution for the Complex is derived from a package sub-station, having two 2.5 MVA cast resin transformers and outgoing distribution by power circuit breakers.
