Centre West and Plaza

Case Studies

Project Title: Centre West and Plaza

Client: British Land

HulleySFM obtained a commission from British Land to manage the handover of the Building Services of the new Centre West Mall from the design and build contractor. This developed with a further detail to ensure that tenants fitted out their units in compliance with the fit out handbook and the requirements of the local building control department as well as the fire brigade. This is primarily to ensure that the safety of the centre as a whole and its state of the art life safety systems, are not compromised by tenant fit out works and that their systems communicate perfectly with the Mall’s main control room.

The commissions have continued, with HulleySFM being responsible for the specification and tender process of the planned preventative maintenance of the M&E building services in the existing Plaza as well as in the new malls. A single source service provider is now in place operating to clearly defined technical and service level specifications.

In the latter part of 2003, HulleySFM advised, reported upon and created tender packages for DDA and modernisation packages for 11 of the existing passenger and goods lifts. In parallel to this, HulleySFM developed a consolidated comprehensive lift maintenance tender package for all of the centres lifts, clearly defining service and technical standards, for issue on the open market.
