Project Title: Integrated Clinical Education Centre (ICEC)

Although this project was originally commissioned on a traditional procurement, as the scheme developed, the Trust decided to adopt and benefit for the partnering approach of ProCure 21 effectively becoming one of the groundbreakers for the new initiative.

The training centre for use of both undergraduate and post graduate of Medical Studies and Nursing Staff from Keele University and Staffordshire Hospital consisted of 7,100m² over 3 storeys with research and library facilities.

H&K undertook full M&E Design together with above ground drainage. The scheme included the provision of new 11,000Volt package sub station breaking into the existing hospitals 11,000 Volt network, lighting & Small Power, category 5e Structured Cabling System networked back to the existing hospital network and intense audio visual requirements.

Audio Visual requirements relayed over a structured cabling system allowed for lectures and surgical procedures to be viewed in remote buildings.

The Library facility was of circular design and also served as a Multimedia & IT suite for the students and lecturers.
