Burntisland Primary School

Funded by Hub East Central the £12.6m school comprises 21 primary education classrooms to accommodate some 650 pupils, and 2 nursery classrooms for around 40 pupils. The building is split into three wings with the core accommodation located in the centre of the school which is fully accessible for staff, pupils and visitors to the school. The external areas for the school, both primary and nursery, has been landscaped to allow pupils the opportunity for safe, creative play. Playing pitches have also been provided to support the community use of this area.
Hulley & Kirkwood were chosen as M&E Designers and applied all the relevant features required in a modern primary school operation which included looking at the provision for ground source heat pumps, all taken from their extensive experience in design of M&E services in schools since 1997.
