Residential

Stone Road Stafford

Urban care in the community redevelopment scheme.
Staffordshire County Council is working in partnership with Wrekin Housing Trust and Choices Housing Association, Galliford Try PLC, Stafford Borough Council and Staffordshire PCT Browning Street GP Practice on this exciting £20m development.

The master plan for the development has been produced by Nicol Thomas Architects. The regeneration of this land has attracted a significant sum of external funding including Homes and Community Agency grant funding and Growth Point funding. The grants funding comes with strict deadlines of when it can be claimed therefore the programme to deliver this large development is very tight and work has already commenced on site.

The development includes a community hub including a community cafe, community rooms and shops.
  • 80 apartments for people over 55 with a care need
  • A specialist dementia care facility
  • A dementia hub
  • A replacement GP surgery and pharmacy
  • Courtyard housing
  • General needs housing
  • Supported living housing
  • A bio-mass energy centre providing district heating
  • A high quality public realm including landscaping and seating
H&K provided strategic advice to Galliford Try on sustainability solutions for the site including identification of the biomass energy centre district heating solution. We continue to provide BREEAM Assessor role and ECOHOMES assessor role services to Galliford Try and SBEM simulation modelling, BREEAM evidence support and handover EPC certificates.
