Atlantic Quay

A mixed use business development located within Glasgow's International Financial District.

The Atlantic Quay site is within the Broomielaw area of the City of Glasgow which has been designated as the location for the Glasgow International Financial Services District, an initiative aimed at attracting financial services sector companies to the City. This included £120m of investment to develop 400,000 sq.ft of office space. Housing, leisure, retail, bars and restaurants also featured in this high profile mixed use development.

4 Atlantic Quay

4 Atlantic Quay is the penultimate part of the development to complete the city block bounded by Robertson Street and York Street known as Atlantic Quay. The £13.75m building faces on to York Street and comprises 6850m² of office accommodation over 9 floors plus basement car park and roof plantroom accommodation.  The Cat A building is the second of three buildings to be constructed in this area and forms part of Glasgow’s financial district development. The building is comfort cooled by means of a four pipe fan coil system and is arranged to be capable of being let on a half floor basis as necessary.  Basement ventilation is via an impulse extract system while smoke ventilation is via a naturally ventilated stack arrangement.

Capella

The £26.5m Capella building at Atlantic Quay completes the Robertson Street / York Street blocks.  The building affords impressive uninterrupted views to the South, West and East of the city from its upper floors.  The building comprises eleven floors plus basement and extends to 110,000 sq.ft.  In addition to the office space, commercial units form part of the ground floor façade and now look on to the finalised communal plaza that is shared by the various buildings that link in to this space.  The building is comfort cooled and is lit in compliance with the latest requirements with all the services being designed to be as flexible in use as possible.  The building was also one of the first office buildings in Scotland to be subject to the Section 6 Regulations relating to carbon performance and ultimately achieved a B rating.

6 Atlantic Quay

6 Atlantic Quay is a 7200m² office development situated on Robertson Street in Glasgow. The £10.8m building comprises seven floors plus a single level basement car park and roof top plant accommodation.  The building utilises a four pipe fan coil system and was one of the first buildings in Scotland to use modular commissioning boxes as part of the installation. Multi-plug in outlet boxes were also utilised on the lighting installation making the internal M&E system easy to install and easy to modify.  The car park saw the first use of an impulse fan extract system in Glasgow avoiding the need for high and low level ductwork throughout the car park which can and has been problematic on other projects where the basement tends to be of restricted headroom.
