Leading edge new mental healthcare facilities.
Hulley & Kirkwood were engaged by NHS Tayside (via Project Managers Cyril Sweett) to provide both a Technical Advisory (TA) service, and separately undertake Infrastructure Design to support a substantial PPP healthcare development at both Murray Royal Hospital, Perth and Stracathro, Angus.
This £100m development was 'mental health' in clinical basis and extended to general adult psychiatry, psychiatry of old age, low secure, medium secure, social work and psychological therapies. The new hospital/secure care centre at Murray Royal extends to some 22,873 sq.m of GIFA, whilst at Stracathro the hospital constitutes some 5,581 sq.m of GIFA. We were actively involved as TAs since inception, through FITN, Preferred Bidder and Financial Close.
The infrastructure works were specific to the Murray Royal Hospital campus, arranged to facilitate the creation of a clear construction site for Project Co, for the new hospital and secure care centre.
Design, production information and site support extended to HV power, LV power, emergency power generation, natural gas, potable and fire mains, voice and data.
The development and realisation of the scheme required extended liaison and negotiations discussions with all relevant stake holders i.e. Utility Authorities, NHS Estates, Clinical User Groups and Project Co.
