Jonathan McMillan, MEng, CEng, MCIBSE, CIBSE LCEA, OCDEA, Certified Passive House Designer, BREEAM AP
Jonathan is Sustainability Director for Hulley & Kirkwood, providing a technical lead for our in-house energy, simulation and sustainability division Hulley Eco.
Jonathan joined H&K as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, and during nearly 20 years at Hulley & Kirkwood has gained experience in all industry sectors, being responsible for mechanical services design and for associated simulation analysis and sustainability duties. As his career has progressed he has become an expert in the field of energy analysis, low carbon design and construction sustainability.
Based in our Edinburgh Office, Jonathan is technical lead for all of our regional offices throughout the UK providing support, advice and guidance to engineers and overseeing all of our energy and sustainability services including operational energy, environmental performance, energy certification and BREEAM assessor services.

Sustainable design can only be delivered with an integrated, multi-disciplinary design approach and I have been pleased to see that over the years ‘sustainability’ has moved from being on the fringes to being at the heart of all design considerations.
Sustainable, low energy design is now the driver in all new build and refurbishment projects. I am proud to be part of a team that have the knowledge, tools and drive to deliver these project aims.
