Commercial and Workplace

BDP Grosvenor Building, Glasgow

Initially employed by our Client, BDP, to undertake a pre-acquisition survey and report on the landlord MEP services on the 2nd floor for the Grosvenor Building. Our scope was subsequently extended to provide full MEP design professional services supporting for their bespoke Cat.B fit-out of the floor. This included supporting our client in all early and appropriate discussions/liaison with the landlord, their agents and contracting team, resolving the extent of the base-build and any negotiated landlord contribution to the works.

The absence of adequately developed MEP information relating to the landlords Cat.A provision required a detailed MEP survey to be undertaken by H&K and translated to design drawings. The necessity of this was further reinforced with the proposed removal of the existing suspended ceiling system to resolve an exposed structural soffit/services interior design philosophy. This in turn required that the existing services and any adaptions or additions to same were meticulously detailed and coordinated with the client’s interior vison, suspended lighting, acoustic baffles etc.

H&K undertook a full design provision of MEP services (forced ventilation, heating/cooling, public health, electrical power, security, data and fire alarms) and also worked closely with the Client's in-house lighting designer to resolve supporting services and ensure a fully coordinated and cohesive interior design and soffit appearance.
