Poppy Court, Kingston Dementia Care Home

Poppy Court, Kingston’s newest dementia care home is an 80 bed nursing home facility located in Surbiton.  Hulley & Kirkwood were appointed to take on the MEP design duties from inception through to detailed design.

The design incorporated a number of energy saving features such as high efficiency lighting, low water usage fittings and high performance u-values. It also included a number of renewable energy technologies such as photovoltaics, solar thermal hot water and heat pumps.

Thermal and building modelling was undertaken in order to confirm compliance with planning requirements, Building Regulations, overheating and energy performance.

Hulley & Kirkwood were also appointed to undertake the BREEAM assessment for the design and post construction stages. The design stage achieved a “Very Good” rating.
