Bristol Airport

Terminal reconfiguration.

The reconfiguration project involved the following work areas:

  • Baggage handling area re-configuration
  • Toilet facility re-provision
  • Central search area re-configuration
  • Immigration area re-configuration
  • Mezzanine infill works

The £750k project was successfully completed within the identified areas of the main airport terminal building whilst it was fully operational at all times.

The planning of the re-configuration work entailed some detailed initial survey work and the preparation of a programme of enabling works prior to the commencement of the main contract.

The security and search area also included a feature lighting scheme which was completed as part of the project.

Work was carried out on all of the airport’s building services systems, including the heating, cooling, ventilation, small power, fire alarm, security, hot and cold water services, above ground drainage and specialist systems.

The scheme finally provided additional passenger transfer facilities and allowed the continued expansion of the airport’s service facilities.
