We’re really pleased to share the completion of Ballindean Road, a 67 home residential development in Dundee consisting of social and shared equity housing, delivered alongside Cullross Limited and Caledonia Housing Association.
As the M&E designers, we were appointed to bring a practical and solutions-focused approach to develop realistic options to meet sustainability and housing association requirements. The project was designed in accordance with; Housing for Varying Needs, Secured by Design and Building Regulations Technical Standards Scotland Section 7 Sustainability to Silvers Standards Aspects 1 & 2.
As such, the completed development features a mix of low-carbon technologies, with outdoor air source heat pumps serving the houses, exhaust air source heat pumps installed throughout the flats and fire suppression systems across every social housing home. We also provided for EV charging infrastructure and solar PV, helping to create energy-efficient homes that are better prepared for the future.
With Dundee continuing to face growing demand for high-quality, affordable housing, it’s been especially rewarding to support a project that brings much-needed new homes and renewed community value to a previously disused brownfield site.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in delivering Ballindean Road, Caledonia Housing Association, Cullross Limited, JM Architects, Goodson Associates Ltd, Vaillant Group, Joule Group Ltd, we’re looking forward to working together more in the near future!
