For many people, it's the finished building.
For engineers, it's often the thinking behind it.
As MEP design engineers, a large part of our role is solving problems that people may never see. From coordinating systems and balancing competing requirements to designing environments that are safe, efficient and comfortable, every decision contributes to how a building will perform for years to come.
For International Women In Engineering Day, we're shining a spotlight on some of the talented engineers across H&K and asking them to reflect on what engineering means to them.
This year's theme, Engineering Intelligence, feels particularly fitting. Because engineering isn't simply about technical knowledge. It's about curiosity, collaboration and understanding how multiple systems come together to create environments that work for the people who use them every day.
We asked Alexis Watson and Jenna Cole a few questions about her experiences in the industry, what they enjoy most about being a building services engineer and their advice for anyone considering a career in engineering.

Thank you to Alexis, Jenna and all the talented women across our company!
