The new 2,640m² for North Lanarkshire Council is beginning to take shape and while it's just the structure for now, the vision is already becoming a reality!
The hub will bring together the existing Gartcosh Primary School and Community Hall, while also introducing a new Nursery, Language & Communication Support Centre, and a flexible space for the whole community to enjoy.
Sustainability has driven the project from the outset and we have applied several techniques early on in the design process to aid this vision. Using climate-based daylight modelling and operational modelling, we have helped shape a building that performs efficiently in real-world conditions, balancing energy use, comfort and long-term performance.
The result will be a fully electric, low-carbon facility, incorporating high-efficiency heat pumps, photovoltaic generation and intelligent lighting systems.
We can’t wait to share more when the project is complete, but for now here’s a glimpse of the journey so far...
