Healthcare facilities rarely stand still for long, which is why designing for future adaptability is such an important part of healthcare engineering, so we're pleased to have completed another phase of works at the Lincoln Community Diagnostic Centre.
Following the successful completion of the Lincoln CDC, we were instructed to develop an extension to provide additional consulting rooms and treatment areas.
As MEP design engineers, an interesting aspect of this project was adapting a very recently completed installation to incorporate these new areas, whilst also designing new systems that integrated seamlessly with the existing infrastructure.
Our objective was to ensure the whole facility presents and operates as a single building, despite elements being delivered 18 months apart.
Working closely with United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust News and MTX Contracts Ltd , we coordinated and monitored electrical capacity requirements, ensuring the services design continued to meet operational objectives and site-specific requirements whilst supporting the integration of the new spaces.
Projects like this demonstrate why flexibility is so important in healthcare design. Clinical requirements evolve quickly and successful MEP engineering is not just about delivering a building for today's needs, but creating infrastructure that can adapt to future changes without compromising how a facility operates.
We're proud to continue supporting ULHT NHS Trust across their estate and look forward to contributing to future phases of development.
Thank you to everyone involved in the successful delivery of this latest stage of the programme.
