We were delighted to visit The University of Edinburgh’s Mechanical Engineering department recently to introduce students to the diverse and rewarding world of Building Services Engineering!
Spearheaded by our Edinburgh Director, Michael O’Donnell, the session highlighted who we are at H&K, what we do, the wide range of sectors we operate in and how we deliver innovative solutions for clients across the UK.
Our Sustainability Director, Jonathan McMillan, followed with one of the most important topics of today... sustainability. We explored how everything starts with our designs, from low-carbon strategies through to the successful delivery of Passivhaus projects.
Director, Dawn Armstrong then showcased some of our most ambitious work to date.
The session finished with a small Q&A, where the students’ enthusiasm and the thoughtful questions made it clear how much potential there is in the next generation. Hopefully we've inspired a few more of them to become the electrical and mechanical building services design engineers of the future!
